A heavy duty metal hand riveting tool for 6T 6mm rivets. A no nonsense manual tool for setting rivets, in conjunction with a hammer. You can find more info on how to use this tool in the Usage tab, and rivets will usually be applied to a pre-drilled hole. Commonly used with banners, hanging display materials and other presentation, exhibition or temporary display situations.

Using this hand tool with a hammer (not supplied) to apply rivets is a manual method that can be effective for small-scale projects. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

  1. Select the Right Rivet: Choose the appropriate rivet size and type for your application. This tool is for 6mm (6T) size. Ensure the rivet length is suitable for the thickness of the materials you are joining.
  2. Prepare Materials: Align and secure the materials to be joined, making sure they are flush and correctly positioned. Mark the locations for the rivets.
  3. Insert the Rivet: Insert the rivet through the pre-drilled holes in the materials. The head of the rivet should be on the side where the hammer will strike.
  4. Hold the Anvil steady: Place the round anvil die supplied on the side opposite to the rivet head. This supports the material and helps form a proper rivet head.
  5. Hold the Hand Tool: Position the rivet set or tool on the exposed mandrel of the rivet. The set should fit securely on the mandrel.
  6. Strike with the Hammer: Firmly strike the exposed end of the rivet with a hammer. The force from the hammer deforms the rivet, creating a second head on the opposite side of the materials.
  7. Inspect the Rivet: After riveting, inspect the joint to ensure the rivet is properly formed and the materials are securely fastened.
  8. Repeat as Necessary: Repeat the process for additional rivets as needed, maintaining consistency in application.

Using a hand tool with a hammer for riveting is suitable for tasks where a more controlled or lightweight approach is required. It’s essential to strike the rivet squarely and with sufficient force to achieve a secure and durable connection.
