This strong paper tape is designed to resemble traditional cloth and glue binding, one of the oldest spine binding methods known to us, with the linson embossed pattern in the paper. It finds frequent use in sketchbooks, small notepads, report pads, chequebooks, and ticket books. The application process is straightforward: you cut the tape to the required length, wrap it around the spine, press to seal, and your bound book is ready.
The pressure-activated single sided adhesive on spine tape initially has low grab but is a strong adhesive that will then fully cure over 24 hours for a permanent bond to most papers, both coated and uncoated. Due to this curing time, some users may opt to press books overnight or apply other weighted compression for a strong bond, although this step is not essential.

Should I use Spine Tape on my job?
Spine tape serves as a finishing touch rather than a comprehensive binding solution. It enhances the appearance of glue-padded books and conceals staples in thicker pads, resulting in a neat and appealing spine. The embossed effect on the tape mimics the traditional glued cloth binding appearance. Taping a book is quicker than pasting and gluing a cloth binding, offering a variety of colours for creating the desired aesthetic.

- Four widths to choose from, 25mm, 38mm, 50mm and 75mm (the actual amount of tape visible on the front cover will be around a third of this depending on the thickness of your book)

- Any spare tape on a roll will keep for up to 12 months with full adhesion properties
- Long-lasting and durable, once tape is applied to book the spine binding will be secure for many years, depending on usage level.
- Apply by hand or semi-automatic machine and is repositionable for up to 3 minutes after application.
- The permanent adhesive takes up to 24 hours to form a full bond with the paper or spine, if it doesn’t seem to be sticking when first put on try applying a bit of pressure and leaving, the adhesive will build up over the next few hours

- All standard delivery services are via a tracked courier, so you receive detailed updates and can fully track your parcel. We use FedEx and DPD.
- Small orders up to £60 value can be sent on a 3 day tracked service. If your order is urgent we always recommend a standard tracked delivery for fast next day delivery.*
