  1. Bookbinding: Staples are often used to bind booklets, brochures, and small publications. Booklets with a small number of pages can be effectively bound using saddle stitching, where the staples are driven through the centre-fold of folded sheets.
  2. Magazine Production: Magazines and catalogues frequently use staples for binding. Saddle stitching is a common method for binding magazines, where a line of staples is used along the spine to hold the pages together.
  3. Pamphlets and Brochures: Staples are commonly used in the binding of pamphlets and brochures. This is a cost-effective and efficient way to bind materials with a low to moderate page count.
  4. Reports and Presentations: In office settings, stapling is a quick and easy method to bind reports and presentations. It is especially useful for documents that need to be taken apart and reassembled easily.
  5. Packet Binding: For instructional materials, training manuals, or educational packets, stapling can be an efficient way to keep related materials together in a structured format.
  6. Marketing Collateral: Staples are often used in the finishing of marketing materials such as flyers, handouts, and promotional materials. This provides a professional appearance while keeping the pages securely bound.
  7. Newsletters: Saddle stitching is commonly used for binding newsletters. It allows for a clean and organised presentation of multiple pages.
  8. Programmes and Event Booklets: Staples are frequently employed to bind programmes and booklets for events, conferences, and ceremonies. Saddle stitching is suitable for booklets with a modest number of pages.
  9. Catalogues: Staples can be used to bind smaller catalogues, especially those with fewer pages. For larger catalogues, other binding methods may be more appropriate.
  10. Mailers and Direct Mail: In direct mail campaigns, folded materials can be stapled to ensure that the content stays together during mailing and delivery.
  • ‘S’ after a staple type means that this staple is hardened steel material for greater durability.
  • ‘Ri’ after a staple type means these staples have protruding loops when finished for gathering together on a tag or cord or for binding into a larger book
  • The first measurement is the staple width or wire gauge.
  • The second measurement displayed after the / mark is the length of the legs.
  • So a 26/6 staple is a 26 gauge staple with 6mm length legs, giving a maximum document capacity to staple of 3-4mm.
