Binding wires, what you need to know

Q: I'm confused with binding wires, I know I need 11mm wires for an A4 book - what else do I need to know to order?

A: Binding wires are tricky to order as they come in so many types, sizes and colours. You need to know the 'pitch' - that is how many loops/inch (this is either 2:1 or 3:1), you will need to know the 'number' of the wire (an 11mm wire is a No. 7) and finally need to know which colour you want.
